The maximum range of a compound bow depends on several factors: the draw weight, draw length, arrow weight.

The draw weight is how much force you need to pull the string back to its full length. The higher the draw weight, the more force you need to pull it back and therefore the more energy it stores up when released. The more energy stored in an arrow means greater penetration and velocity on impact with your target!
